Data Management toolkit for the Macess Document System
Gain complete mastery over your I-Max database tables for reporting, integration, export, conversion, maintenance and more.
Note:This is a significantly different product than our Data Manager Enterprise. It has been customized for Macess and includes special interfaces, DDF files and more. To get the Macess Demo you must send an email to this
address.
Everything you see will be very familiar to you. You can see all of your I-Max tables with an easy to use explorer interface. All of the table names, field names and table
definitions are visible and as specified in the Macess documentation. The tree view of the table is linked with a set of tabbed grids for easy viewing of the field, file and index definitions.
A tab with the data view is also available. Data can be easily browsed and\or edited. All of the special Macess data types are handled. These include the special date, time and timestamp fields.
They are all visible as dates. And can be edited, exported and handled just like any other Macess data.
In addition the Data manager for Macess can easily export any of the Macess data to any other database or file format on the planet. This includes Microsoft SQl Server, Access,
Oracle, or any type of delimited or fixed format text file. Any database supporting ODBC or OLE DB. And we have a special super-fast load for SQL Server. Exports can be visually configured using our built in export wizards
and saved to either plain text or encrypted export configuration files. So it does not require any programming knowledge to use. All you kneed to know is what data you want and what database or file you want it to go to.
Exports can be run from within the program, a command line, or via an included ActiveX control. So you can
easily integrate an export into a scheduling program, application, report writer, etc. Basically, anything and everything.
How can I use it for reporting?
Almost everyone has people with expertise in Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access and/or SQL Sever. Very little have that kind of expertise
with Pervasive (the underlying database to Macess). The Data Manager for Macess takes care of all of the knowledge needed for Pervasive.
You simply use the Data manager to open up the DDF we provide for the Macess files. All of the expertise for Pervasive is built into the Data
Manager. You just see all of your familiar I-Max tables. From there it is just a few easy steps away.
- Select the data you want.
- Select where you want it to go. A number of options are provided for everything from creation of the database and table to field mapping and more.
- Save the configuration into a plain text or encrypted file. You can come back and modify it later.
- Run the configuration by:
- Use a scheduling program. The commmand line interface of the Data manager can be easily used to do this. Just pass the export configuration file as a parameter.
For example: schedule an export to run at night. The reporting can be done on the target database anytime afterwards.
- Use the included ActiveX control to integrate it directly into an application or report writer. Reports can be generated on demand this way.
Why is it so Fast
The Data manager is so fast because it does not use ODBC or any other Middleware software to connect to the Macess Data files. It connects
directly with the underlying Pervasive microkernal database engine. It reads the data the fastest way possible. And it easily beats out the Macess
DataTran program utility in speed and utility.
How Does it Work?
It combines our Data Manager for Btrieve and Pervasive SQL Universal Edition, Data Control for Btrieve Universal, and
a set of Data Dictionary (DDF) files for the I-Max tables
A three in one combination that lets you get easy access and control over your Macess database files.
Visual tools for easy exploration, editing and export of your data for integration, reporting, maintenance and conversion. A progammable ActiveX conponent
for easy development. And a set of data dictionary files (DDF) for the I-Max tables to make it all possible. Access
to your Macess data files has never been this easy.
The Data Manager Universal is a specially built version of our Data Manager Enterprise.
Like the Enterprise version it is a see everything and do anything kind of tool. And like the Enterprise version it supports configurable export to any
database or file format on the planet. But in addition to that it adds in support for all of the non standard data types used by Macess.
Likewise, the Data Control for Btrieve Universal is a special version of our Data Control for Btrieve Enterprise.
It is an ActiveX control modeled after ADO but also supporting all of the Macess data types and data files.
Finally, to make it all work you need a Data Dictionary DDF file for the Macess DataTran data files.
The Data Management toolkit for the Macess provides everything you need to easily work with your Macess data files.
With the Data Manager you can browse, edit, and set up configurable exports without writing a single line of code. With the
Data Control you can easily write your own programs to directly access the Macess data files. Neither of these tools require ODBC or any other middleware product.
They work with any and all versions of Pervasive SQL and Btrieve. And they have been specially engineered to work with the Macess data files.
There is nothing you need to setup or configure. They will run out of the box and plug right into your existing Macess system.
Data Manager for Btrieve and Pervasive SQL Universal: Browse, edit, and configurable export for reporting, integration and conversion.
The Data Manager for Btrieve and Pervasive SQL Universal combines everything from the Standard and Enterprise editions.
Browse and edit your DDF or data files. Configurable export of data to Microsoft Access, SQL Server, or any ODBC DSN, OLE DB Providers and any fixed or delimited text files.
And because it uses native access for reading the Btrieve data files it can work with any version of Btrieve or Pervasive data file new or old.
And it can read that data faster and more reliable than anything else available anywhere. Unsupassed speed and releability for exporting data.
The Data Manager has a very easy to see and use interface. Everything is easily accessable with the explorer type
tree view and tabbed grids. Here The Macess DDF file is open in the Data Manager and one of the image files is open in the Data tab.
The Configurable Data Management Tool is so Easy to Use
It works exactly as the Enterprise edition allowing easy configurable export to Microsoft Access, SQL Server, any ODBC DSN or OLE DB provider.
Shown above is the DDF opened into the Data Management grid. Exports can be easily configured and saved to encrypted and non encrypted files.
Configurations can be run from within the program, via a command line interface or a special ActiveX control.
Visually configure a database export and save it.
You can easily integrate this into a scheduling program, report writer, or any tool or utility supporting a command line or activeX control
Cofigurable data export for reporting, integration and conversion
The configurable data export can be done without writing a single line of code. And you can easily integrate thse exports into scheduling programs, report writers or any kind of application supporting
a command line interface or ActiveX. This makes it ideal for database reporting, integration and conversion.
